And I ask God, that with both feet planted firmly on love,
you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love.
Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights!
Live full lives, full in the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19 MSG

Lent, Holy Week, & Easter with Immanuel

The church gives us the season of Lent to prepare our hearts for the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection at Easter. Through personal disciplines like prayer, fasting, and giving, our love for God and neighbor is nurtured and grows. We are also intentional about the time we spend in community with one another.

This Lenten season, we invite you to ground yourself in worship and the study of scripture as we focus on being Centered in Love. Too often, we find ourselves centered on other things or nothing at all. When we center ourselves on the love of God, transformation can occur within and around us.

  • Sundays in Lent

Be Centered in Love with us on Sunday mornings in Lent!

WORSHIP SERVICES at 8:00am & 10:30am will offer an opportunity to begin your week, strengthened by Word and Sacrament. Please note that Monday evening worship is paused during the season of Lent.

BIBLE STUDY — Building God's Extraordinary Church
Pastor Jim Stein will lead a six session Bible study on the Book of Ephesians beginning on Sunday, February 15 at 9:15am in the Youth Room. Ephesians is a singular letter in the corpus of New Testament epistles. Its soaring language and notable theological images describe the Christian Church as a vehicle for equipping God’s people for their ministry to one another and to the world. Everyone is welcome!

  • Wednesdays in Lent

Plan to join us on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm for powerful services of evening prayer and song in the worship space. Using the “Fruits of the Spirit” in Galatians as our guide, we will focus on being Centered in Love in our everyday lives.

    February 18: Centered in Love
    February 25: Leading with Joy
    March 4: Practicing Peaceful Patience
    March 11: Spreading Kindness
March 18: Living out Self-Control amidst the Chaos
    March 25: Embodying Faithful Generosity

You don’t want to miss what our thoughtful speakers will have to share with us on Wednesday evenings!

Special Worship Services

  • Ash Wednesday

    February 18 at 11:00am & 6:30pm

We begin this sacred season confessing our brokenness and recognizing our own mortality. As we receive an ashen cross, we are reminded, “Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return.”

  • Palm/Passion Sunday

    March 29 at 8:00am & 10:30am

Ten minutes before worship, gather with us in the Multipurpose Room as we join in Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Quickly, however, this celebration is tinged with the reality of Jesus’ betrayal and death through a creative re-telling of the Passion of Our Lord.

  • Maundy Thursday

    April 2 at 11:00am & 6:30pm

Our worship on Maundy Thursday includes the Sacrament of Holy Communion and a hand-washing ritual, remembering Jesus’ new commandment to “Love One Another.”

Our evening liturgy includes the celebration of First Communion for children in our congregation and ends with the stripping of the altar in preparation for Good Friday.

  • Good Friday

    April 3 at 1:00pm & 6:30pm

On this holy day we gather at the cross as we remember the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ through the reading of scripture, reflective music, and time for meditation and prayer.

  • Vigil of Easter

    April 4 at 6:30pm

Perfect for people of all ages, this first celebration of Jesus’ resurrection engages all of our senses as we feel the heat of the New Fire, hear the stories of our faith creatively proclaimed from scripture, sing together, and gather around the font and table. This worship service lasts approximately an hour and 15 minutes.

  • Easter Day

    April 5 at 8:00am & 10:30am

Alleluia! Christ is risen! We gather with family and friends to celebrate that Christ is risen, indeed! Join us for one of two Festival Holy Communion worship services featuring beautiful music and the proclamation of the Good News — all in the beauty of our worship space with a vibrant Easter flower garden.
