REV. CARINA SCHILTZ
Pastor

I grew up in Southeastern Minnesota and was raised in an ELCA congregation. I wondered how my love of the church, people, public speaking, and the Spanish language (which was my major in college at Luther, along with religion) would come together for me! Thanks to a semester abroad in the Dominican Republic, I found my next steps: I was going to be a pastor!

After I graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa I attended Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa, with an internship year in Milwaukee. I met and married my spouse Eric, who is also an ELCA pastor, while in seminary. We served separate congregations for five wonderful years in the Southeastern Iowa Synod. We moved to Wisconsin in March of 2022.

I love helping people think and act creatively, courageously, and with curiosity! Everything starts with God's love for all of creation, including us, and then overflows from there! I'm passionate about building and strengthening relationships, centering and celebrating voices that are often silenced, and trusting that God is present in all of it.

If you're wondering if there is a place for you at Immanuel, there is. Come and see!
