Supplies for Lutheran World Relief

Most Needed Items! 

School Kits -- Layettes -- Health Kits -- Scissors -- Shirts or Onesies -- Dark Hand Towels and Wash Cloths -- Rulers -- Gowns or Sleepers (no feet & up to 24-month size) -- Bar Soap -- Crayons (24 count only) -- Combs -- Spiral Notebooks (70 page - no loose leaf paper please) -- Diaper Pins -- Nailclippers w/files --  Flat Fold-cloth Diapers -- Toothbrushes (but no toothpaste please) We ask for a different item every month - check the bulletins and Messenger. These items can be put into the "Wishing Well" in the Narthex.

Health Kits
Clean hands, good grooming, bright and shining smiles--we can help bring them to kids around the world through the gift of Health Kits. Needed items for the Health Kits are: Dark Handtowels (16x25), Dark Washcloths, Bath size wrapped Soap (4-5 oz), toothbrushes (single/in original packaging), Combs (widetooth), Metal nail files or nail clippers with file attached, Band-Aids (1/2 to 3/4")
 
School Kits
Notebooks of wide- or college-ruled paper (no loose-leaf paper), blunt scissors, centimeter/1 foot ruler, pencil sharpeners, new pencils with erasers, erasers (2-1/2" lg),  box of 16-24 crayons
 
Layettes
Long- or short-sleeved sleepers, Onesies (sizes up to 24 mo.), receiving blankets, flat fold diapers, knitted sweaters (up to 24 mo.), full size washcloths, bath size wrapped soap, diaper pins.
 
Midwife Kits
Regular size bath towel (not plush), 36" square muslin or sheeting, washcloths (thin), bath size wrapped Ivory soap, newborn stocking caps (keep hand-knit ones very small), small cotton-blend or flannel shirt (to waist only as the babies do not wear diapers), receiving blankets, plastic or latex gloves (clean, not sterile) NO kitchen gloves.
 
Gently used, clean items can be substituted for new ones. Check out local rummage sales. Sizes up to 24 mo. (variety). Sweaters may be knitted or crocheted from leftover yarn. Preferred styles have buttons or ties down the front. Daipers can be made from flannel or t-shirts.
 
Contact the church office at 261-1663 for a sweater pattern. Look up Lutheran World Relief to get more information on any of these kits.
 
Cash donations can also be made for the purchase of any items that are needed to complete the project. Please mark for “LWR Health Kits/LWR School Kits.”
